The American Colony Hotel, a landmark fairytale get-away in the heart of Jerusalem, has been providing its luxurious hospitality services for more than 120 years. Personified by classic Arabian arches, elaborate furnishings and opulent suites, this elegant boutique hotel with its 96 guestrooms and suites prides itself in offering guests an enchanting ?east-meets-west? experience in a distinctively tranquil and romantic setting.

THE BUILDINGS
The Main House: Built in the mid-19th century by Pasha El Husseini on the ruins of an older Ottoman style building. During the mid-20th century a new wing was added to meet the needs of the growing lodging demand for the American Colony Hotel.

The East House: Another of the original buildings was built circa 1870 and purchased by the Colony in 1895. It is just across from the Main House adjoining our unique edible garden.

The Palm House: Dates from the end of the nineteenth century.

The Cow Byre: Constructed by the early American Colony members, was used first as a barn, and then a forge.

BARS & RESTAURANTS
The Arabesque: The main dining room of the hotel, located in the Main House. In a gracious, traditional setting, it offers a varied menu which includes Middle Eastern and international dishes.
Val?s Brasserie: Overlooking the pool and adjacent to the Cellar Bar, this informal setting provides lunch and dinner; with a warm crackling fireplace during the colder months. Enjoy local dishes and continental specialties in a cosy atmosphere. Don?t miss the famous afternoon English tea.
The Courtyard: This is the most picturesque setting, famous for breakfast and romantic evening meals.
The Summer Bar: This well-known bar and barbecue, open during the summer months, is set in the tranquillity of the Palm House garden, and offers mouth-watering grilled meats and pizza from the brick oven.
The Cellar Bar: Once the American Colony dairy, this is Jerusalem?s most enchanting and intimate bar. Floored with ancient pink stone, this legendary bar is a place to unwind for visitors and residents, and a popular meeting place for journalists and diplomats from across the world.

Room Descriptions

Comfort Room
Cozy rooms located mainly in the Main House, but also available in the Cow Byre and the East House. Comfort Rooms at The American Colony in Jerusalem city center are decorated and furnished to live up to the high expectations of our guests. Each room contains either one Queen or Two single beds (bed type subject to availability).

Classic Pasha Room
Turkish Charm. Classic Pasha rooms at The American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem are authentic and individually furnished in the Ottoman style of Jerusalem of the late 1800's. Enjoy the period charm and modern comfort of these unique rooms. All rooms are meticulously refurbished with all the facilities the modern guest could require whilst respecting the charm and atmosphere of the original building. Classic Pasha rooms are available mainly in the Palm House. Room size: 27-35 m2 291-344 ft2. Each room contains either one Queen or Two single beds (bed type subject to availability).

Deluxe Pasha Room
In the Main House of The American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem, the Pasha built winter rooms for three of his wives with entrances from the gallery overlooking the pool. Each of these Deluxe Pasha rooms has a private patio ideal for a relaxing stay during your holidays in Israel. Other Deluxe Pashas are located in the luxurious and peaceful East House, with some in the Palm House. Some rooms have either a private garden, a patio or balcony. One King size bed. Room size: 28-38 m2 301-409 ft2.

Junior Suite
Exquisite larger rooms, some with original painted wooden ceilings, three of these rooms were originally summer rooms built by the Pasha for his wives and are in the Main House, opening on to the famous Courtyard: others are in the Palm House and East House. Each Junior contains one King size bed.
Room size: 38-46 M2 409- 495ft2.

Suite
The suites at the American Colony 5* hotel in Jerusalem are well-appointed and luxurious. They are located in the Main House, Palm House, East House and Cow Byre, each of these rooms has a spacious sitting area, a large bathroom and a distinct Middle Eastern character all of its own. All suites contain one King size bed.
